Through extensive research and community relationships, CRC continuously identifies streamside sites in-need of restoration. To date, thousands of volunteers have joined CRC to install over 17,000 native trees and shrubs throughout our watersheds.
Every tree and shrub planted is native and has a profound impact on our local water quality and ecosystems by adding habitat for native wildlife, filtering and absorbing water, and cooling the water in the creeks.
In addition to planting, CRC returns to sites regularly to care for trees and shrubs, repair protection, and remove invasive-plants which threaten the survival of native plant species.
CRC's work is largely funded by a grant from the Community Conservation Partnership Program under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation, as well as other generous foundations, grant programs, and local corporations including the Trees for Watersheds Grant Program and Xylem Inc.
