News: Earth Day Volunteers Make a Huge Splash in Goose Creek!

Creek: Chester
Date: April 21, 2010

What do three mattresses, four couches, a street lamp post, a bowling ball, six bikes, a Christmas tree, car batteries, a TV, an electric organ, and a kitchen sink all have in common? These were some of the strangest items that were collected as part of a record haul from along Goose Creek and roadside areas on April 17th at the 5th Annual CRC Chester Creek Cleanup. Over 400 dedicated individuals removed the 14 tons of trash and 42 tires from alongside three miles of Goose Creek and 27 miles of roads in East Goshen-almost doubling the amount of trash removed last year. Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association organized the event along with the sponsoring municipalities of West Goshen, West Chester, East Goshen, and Thornbury, Chester County Water Resources Authority and area Lions Club. CRC also thanks the coordinators, public works employees, business sponsors, residents, and students that made this all possible. To view more photos, friend us on Facebook (crc watersheds)!
