Date: 11-17-2010
Ridley

With funding from Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Middletown Township, Natural Lands Trust, and Elwyn, Inc., Delaware County Council acquired the 46 acre wooded tract along Ridley Creek known as “Mineral Hill”. Together with the Lavin Tract and Memorial Park, Mineral Hill completes a 100-acre open space buffer to protect Ridley Creek and the Media drinking water intake, while providing for passive recreation. These partners, as well as Middletown Township Land Conservancy, Penn Future, Schmid Associates, Cahill Associates, and CRC board member Judith Auten contributed to this successful outcome through their hard work and generosity.

Whole Foods Devon Rains Down Funds for Paoli Rain Garden
Date: 06-18-2010
Crum

On June 15th, Whole Foods Devon raised $4,250 during a 5% fundraiser for the CRC to support constructing a rain garden in the Paoli Business District this summer.

Rain gardens are planted areas designed to soak up rain water, which drains from a roof or other impervious surface. This rain garden will reduce stormwater runoff and nonpoint source pollution at the very headwaters of Crum Creek in Paoli, and will serve as a demonstration garden for homeowners and businesses alike.

A big thanks goes out to everyone who came out during this event and Whole Foods Devon!
