Designated Uses
The designated uses of Crum Cree are:
- High Quality- Cold Water Fishery ( HQ-CWF): East Branch of Crum Creek from its source in Malvern Borough and Paoli to the main stem in Willistown; main stem to Willistown/Newtown/Edgmont border near Boot Road
- Exceptional Value- Cold Water Fishery (EV- CWF): West Branch of Crum Creek (Willistown Township)
- Cold Water Fishery- Willistown/Newtown Border to Springton Reservoir
- Warm Water Fishery- Springton Reservoir, all direct drainage to the Reservoir, and all downstream areas; plus the Trout Run subbasin
The West Branch of the Upper Crum Creek was successfully redesignated Exceptional Value in 2005, thanks to the efforts of Willistown Conservation Trust and Willistown Township, with other co-petitioners, including CRC. The High Quality and Exceptional Value sections of Crum Creek in Malvern and Willistown are referred to as Special Protection Waters.
