Designated Uses
The designated uses of Chester Creek are:
High Quality- Cold Water Fishery ( HQ-CWF): Rocky Run tributary of East Branch
Cold Water Fishery (CWF): Green Creek tributary of West Branch
Trout Stocking Fishery (TSF): East Branch of Chester Creek source to West Branch (except Goose Creek and Rocky Run), West Branch (except Green Creek), and main stem to Brookhaven boundary
Warm Water Fishery (WWF) : Goose Creek tributary of East Branch and Main Branch south of Brookhaven border

All of the streams in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have a designated use. These include supporting aquatic life, as well as human uses such as fishing, water-related sports, and supplying potable water. The objectives of Pennsylvania’s Clean Streams Law are:
Protecting these existing stream uses
Bringing up to standards those stream segments which fail to support their designated uses
